Autumn is a time of releasing, but it’s also a time of slowing down and settling in to prepare for the winter.

For some, energy and emotional wellbeing can be affected by the decreasing sunlight and the change in weather. 

In nature, plants release their growth from the summer months and turn inward to survive the pending freeze of winter.

The change can feel daunting and drastic at times, but so beautiful too! 

We must remind ourselves that maintaining awareness and harmonizing our body and mind with this natural and beautiful transition in nature can help us more easefully manage the impact upon our wellbeing. Open your heart and your mind to this transition, to this time of falling inward preparing for the winter months.

Embrace the energy of this season.

Slow down a bit and savor autumn!

The work we did in last month’s Yoga with the Seasons calendar focused on having the wisdom to release what no longer serves you as the trees release their leaves to the autumn wind. That is, we released intentions that did not reach fruition or those that did, but have come to pass.

We also released the thought of our new habits as ‘goals or intentions.’ This supporting us to fully settle into them and reap the benefits of our hard work. 

While the work we did last month may have seemed to focus only on one component of the autumn season – releasing – in fact, all components (i.e., decreasing, releasing, slowing down, preparation of winter) were naturally sprinkled in with the process of releasing. 

My friend, you have done such amazing work on your journey through the seasons this year. 

Let’s slow down this month. Take this time of gratitude for what you have achieved on your self-care journey. 

Now is a time to allow yourself to settle even deeper into the bounty of your harvest. Allow yourself to slow down and begin to fall inward. Into that wonderful world of you – your own personal little universe!
